The Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, West Virginia is set on some of the most beautiful countryside you’ll ever see on a golf course. West Virginia is the unfortunate butt of many jokes, but it is a beautiful, beautiful state.
When I played the course several years back, it was private but still relatively easy to secure a tee time. I had my head pro call their pro shop and I was able to play unaccompanied without an issue. The hardest part of the day wasn’t getting on, but rather the golf course. In typical Pete Dye fashion, it’s a gorgeous track but quite penal.
